Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Akari Collective LLC ("Akari Collective", "we", "us") collects when you visit akaricollective.com (the "Site") or sign up for our text message updates, and what we do with it. The short version: the Site sets no cookies and runs no trackers. The only personal information we hold is what you choose to give us, by email or through the SMS sign-up form, and we never sell it or share it for marketing.

What we collect
Information you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use it to reply to you and to keep a record of our correspondence.
SMS sign-up information
If you sign up for Akari Collective Updates on our Site, we collect your mobile phone number, your first name if you provide it, and a record of your consent: the date and time you agreed, the consent wording you saw, and the IP address and browser used to submit the form. We keep this record to prove you opted in, as carriers and messaging regulations require.
Information collected automatically
The Site does not use cookies, local storage, analytics scripts, advertising pixels, embedded social widgets, or third-party fonts. We do not fingerprint your device or track you across other sites.
Our hosting provider processes standard web server logs to deliver the Site and to protect it from abuse. These logs may include your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the time of the request. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors.
How we use information
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To send the text messages you signed up for, and to honour your request to stop them.
- To operate, secure, and maintain the Site.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Text messaging (SMS) and your mobile information
When you opt in to Akari Collective Updates, you agree to receive occasional news from Akari Collective and its brands, such as launches, events, and openings, from Akari Collective LLC at the mobile number you provide. Message frequency varies, typically no more than 4 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, and get help by replying HELP or emailing hello@akaricollective.com. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories of sharing described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We share your mobile number only with the messaging platform and carriers that deliver the messages you asked for, and only for that purpose.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site and send messages (for example, our web host and our SMS delivery provider), who may use it only on our behalf; when the law requires it; or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Legal basis (where applicable)
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent for text messages, and on our legitimate interest in running and securing the Site and responding when you contact us.
How long we keep information
We keep email correspondence for as long as it is useful for the purpose it was sent, and then delete it. We keep SMS consent records for as long as you are subscribed and for a reasonable period afterwards, as proof of consent. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period according to their own policies.
Links to other sites
The Site links to the websites and social media accounts of our brands, and to third-party platforms such as Instagram. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. Please review their policies before sharing information with them.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. You must be at least 18 to sign up for text messages. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@akaricollective.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Security
The Site is served only over HTTPS. Its pages are static files with no database behind them, and the SMS sign-up form is handled by a small, isolated function that stores only the fields described above. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
